The Dahlia Street church of Christ (located in Denver, Colorado) is a nondenominational, independent congregation of Christians who seek simple, Biblical Christianity. We seek to follow Jesus as Lord, the Messiah of the Old Testament and the Savior of the world.

It is a family of brothers and sisters in Christ who seek to be forgiven and to forgive. In our family, Jesus is the focus, the goal, and the methodology of living life. Accepting Him as the Lord of daily life, as well as eternity, gives us direction, hope, and joy. (Read John 15:11)

We seek to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. We seek to do Bible things in Bible ways and call Bible things by Bible names. In so doing we seek ultimately to follow Jesus without man-made doctrines, books and rules.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired (God-breathed) word of God and that following Jesus through following His book will create peace, reconciliation, and simple, New Testament Christianity. The Bible only will create Christians only, without denominational division and without man-made innovations.

We believe that a careful study of history, archeology, chemistry, astronomy, physics, biology, and genetics will show that the Bible is true, Jehovah is God, and Jesus is His only begotten Son, the Messiah. Jesus established His church in 33 AD on the day of Pentecost, 50 days after the Passover. It is His church, bought with His blood and we refer to the church with scriptural terms, the "churches of Christ" (Romans 16:16); the "church of God" (I Corinthians 1:2). God never gave His church an actual name, but we see in scripture that the phrases used to refer to His church show His ownership of it. The term "church of Christ" is not our name, but a description of His ownership. God teaches us not to name churches after the names of men (I Corinthians 1:10-12 and I Corinthians 3:1-7).

Our congregation was chartered in 1937 as the Park Hill church of Christ, and we were located at 14th Avenue and Cherry Street. In the early 1960s the church outgrew that building and it was sold. A new facility was built at 1100 Dahlia Street in 1963, our present site (four blocks south of Colfax, eight blocks east of Colorado Blvd), near Rose Hospital.

We have a multi-racial church community composed of people from every socioeconomic walk of life. We come from all over the U.S. and some foreign countries. We have members from many different religious backgrounds who have rallied around the concept of simple, nondenominational Christianity.

Each congregation is independent and autonomous. We have no local, state, national or international headquarters. We are self-governed according to I Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:1-9. Remember, we seek to do Bible things in Bible ways. The Bible never speaks of regional bishops, archbishops, cardinals nor any other church leader above the local elder (or bishop). Our church family seeks to follow that biblical pattern.

Come join us in lifting up Jesus to a world in need of His love.
